Crown Hotel

West St, Blandford Forum DT11 7AJ, UK – 01258 456626

Newly refurbished bar and restaurant with some new coffee and menu ideas alongside. The prices help to pay for the renovations but food is now at least reasonable quality for the price and tbe beers are what you'd expect from the local Badger brewery. Some nice relaxed seating areas inside, dogs welcome and a very pleasant garden area for those rare sunny days. Safest family pub option in town.

Stayed here three nights with our dog. Staff friendly. Had three dinners in the bar area where dogs are allowed. There are a range of tables and comfy chairs and fires for cold weathers. Had different meals all three nights and all were very tasty and served in good time. Had breakfast in the bar area too, as we had the dog. Service dipped them. Extremely slow. Don't be in a hurry, tho food when it arrived, was ok. Room was pleasant but sound proofing not good.

Kings Arms Hotel

Whitecliff Mill St, Blandford Forum DT11 7BE, UK – 01258 455343

Received a warm welcome from the landlord of the Kings Arms pub which serves a fine selection of real ales in a comfortable front bar. On the night we were in attendance there was a fantastic jazz session in the rear bar fronted by local band leader and music maestro Dan Baker. This occurs once a month and makes for a great evening so check out the dates and have a ball - highly recommended!

well kept beer, friendly landlord, real fire and some live music. a good solid pub.

Park Lodge Bungalow

Whitecliff Mill St, Blandford Forum DT11 7BN, UK – 01258 452834

Christine and Jim are excellent and inviting hosts. Room is cleaned daily and they cannot do enough for their patrons. Breakfast served daily is great as well. Towne center is a short 5 minute stroll. All in all this is a gem and highly recommended. Should I return to Blandford I will be in contact with Park Lodge for accommodation. Thank you Christine and Jim for your patronage.

Fantastic value for money. Owners were terrific and just couldn't do enough for me. Not ultra modern, but if you appreciate quality of service and a spotlessly clean and comfortable environment, this is the one for you.

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The White Horse Inn

Shaston Rd, Stourpaine, Blandford Forum DT11 8TA, UK – 01258 453535

A lovely pub, great food and friendly staff all go make an enjoyable meal, I advise booking as it's a small fairly intimate restaurant that can get busy. For older customers that coffee a discount scheme so check out their website for details. Good value for money

Excellent steak lunch, was rather busy but was Saturday lunchtime. Friendly & helpful waiting staff still managed to get us a couple of table options. London Pride, Doom Bar, Flack Horse (house ale) & two local ales all on hand pump. Three boxed ciders & Stowford Press. Interesting and varied menu & specials board.

The Dolphin

42 East St, Blandford Forum DT11 7DR, UK – 01258 456813

Lovely pub but I'm not one for a sports bar myself and with three big screens it would be a fabulous pub for the sports minded. Friendly staff and some great beer.

New ownership with good beer selection and friendly atmosphere. TV screens for Live Sports and live music. All good :-)

Charlton Inn

Bournemouth Rd, Charlton Marshall, Blandford Forum DT11 9NH, UK – 01258 453160

Love this place so much. Great surface. Many a choices for drinks and food. Bedrooms so gorgeous and clean great views. Make the beds and there's a beautiful place to sit out side on grass lake right down the path to it plus you can relax and explore the natures sites💙

Great food. We didn't book but did get a table. All locals in there and we kind of felt it. Shame really. If felt more welcoming then would of been a 5.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Bryanston Cottage

Bryanston Street, Blandford Forum DT11 7AZ, UK – 01258 452746

We absolutely loved this place! It was like a secret heaven hidden away in the middle of Blandford Forum. Amazing, comfortable and cozy place with great people. Delicious home-made food. We stayed there in June with my mom, stepdad and boyfriend. I would definitely love to go there again. Thank you very much for the hospitality!

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights here for a weekend away. I had bought Hall and Woodhouse brewery tour for my partner for Christmas and chose to stay at Bryanston cottage instead of at The Crown hotel (which was lovely, we had dinner there one night and their bar was very nice). The main reason for choosing the cottage was because of the beautiful scenery and fantastic reviews. We weren't disappointed. John and Lexi were ever so welcoming. Lemon drizzle cake on arrival, free room upgrade (we stayed in the studio flat, toured the rest of the house which was gorgeous, but the studio flat with it's own entrance was ever so convenient) and let us leave the car in their car park after we had checked out so we could explore the town before leaving Blandford. WE WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN! Beautiful part of England, and with such welcoming hosts (I didn't even mention the breakfast, full continental PLUS a full English breakfast! Truly scrummy) we definately recommend.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Campsites and Caravan Parks

Inside Park

The Inside Park, Down House Estate, Blandford St Mary, Blandford Forum DT11 9AD, UK – 01258 453719

I wasnt sure what to expect when we booked our 1st camping trip here, but neednt have worried as it was lovely. I was very happy where we were situated (not in the packed open field!) But around more in the foresty bit. Shower block/toilets was 30 sec walk away, which is great when u have a 4 yr old and cleaned every day. Beautiful forest right behind our tent which was also great when u have a 12month old dalmatian 😉 can walk for hours as signposted with colour markers. They also had a fantastic park which i definately had more fun in than my daughter! Would recommend and also visit again.

Amazing place going again soon. Dog friendly too!
