Blandford Forum is Englands finest rural market town. Destroyed by fire in 1731 and rebuilt years later, Blandford has some outstanding architecture, a selection of fascinating museums, shops and galleries, and the Great Dorset Steam fair.
Blandford's focal point is the Market Place, markets being held there on a Thursday and Staurday each week. In addition, once a month a farmers market takes place (currently every second Friday in the month) throughout the year, and this offers a great opportunity to meet local food producers and sample their wares.
Blandford andthe surrouding villages have a range of good quality inspected accommodation.
Regular bus services from Poole, Bournemouth, Gillingham, Dorchester, Weymouth and Salisbury (all on the rail network)operate several times daily.
